My FRONTIER FILM presets for Capture One are designed around my life long use of a Fujifilm Frontier film scanner. They are not meant to be exact replicas of the Frontier scanner, I think that would be pretty impossible since it depends on your film, exposures, developing, and adjustments.. But traditionally there is a special look that Frontier produces. Gold skin tones, pinkish highlights, green leaning shadows.. at least the way I adjust my shots create that look.
These are my most used ones, they have the strongest film curve to them. You’ll noticed your exposure will jump up when using them, simply just lower the exposure back down and you’ll be good. I really like to increase the contrast slider and play with the white balance and tint to create a look for each shoot.
You’ll learn by simply playing with the white balance and tint that you can create different looks out of the presets.
These are additional options based on a totally different film curve. A little more crunchy and stylized. Sometimes i’ll play with these if I can decide on a final look. Don’t be scared to play with the brightness slider as it’ll less affect the film curve. Sometimes I will turn down the saturation as well.
