Capture One Film Curves

These have been a safely guarded “trick” for me. After shooting so much film it dawned on me that it wasn’t just the tones that we love about film.. but its the magical contrast. So I made these 8 curve settings that I have been using on every single photo now. It basically gives you the perfect starting point to get the film look.

Works on all cameras, unlike my other presets that are made according to the camera manufactures color science. Slap the perfect curve setting on, adjust your Exposure and White Balance. From there just use your color wheels to add a light grade.

HOW TO INSTALL

For Mac

1. Quit Capture One Pro.

2. Find the folder with Capture One presets that you wish to install.

3. Select the folder and press CMD+C to copy it.

4. Now you should navigate to this folder, where Capture One expects to find presets. Open a Finder window and choose the menu Go > Go To Folder and type in the following path into the dialog, and click Go:
   ~/Library/Application Support/Capture One/

5. Next, locate and open the subfolder “Presets60”.

6. Locate and open the subfolder “Curve”.

7. Finally, paste the folder containing the Capture One presets, by using CMD+V.

8. Relaunch Capture One and test if you can see the folder you just copied.
